Description
Features
- Ultra-Lightweight Performance: Weighing in at just 24g to 36g, TPU tubes are nearly 70% lighter than traditional butyl rubber tubes (100g-120g). By reducing rotational mass at the outer edge of your wheelset, you will experience significantly more responsive acceleration and effortless climbing.
- Ultra-Compact & Space-Saving: The packed size is only 30% to 50% of a standard inner tube. You can easily stash two or three spare TPU tubes into your saddlebag or jersey pocket without adding any bulk.
- Low Rolling Resistance & High Durability: Engineered with highly resilient Thermoplastic Polyurethane, these tubes offer excellent puncture resistance. They also deliver remarkably low rolling resistance, rivaling the premium riding feel of latex tubes.
Notes
- Irreversible Deformation: TPU material expands to fit the tire casing. Once inflated inside a larger tire (e.g., 28C), it permanently stretches and cannot be reused in a narrower tire (e.g., 23C or 25C).
- Strict Installation Limits: NEVER inflate the tube over 0.5 psi outside the tire. Only inflate it slightly to give it shape before installation. Over-inflating a TPU tube outside the tire will cause localized, irreversible ballooning and ruin the tube.
- Heat Resistance Considerations: Standard TPU tubes can be sensitive to extreme heat. If you use rim brakes and frequently ride long descents, there is a risk of heat-induced failure. Rim brake riders should strictly opt for “High-Temperature Resistant” models or versions equipped with metal valves.
